Build the comparison at order-line level
Sales records and payout records can represent different parts of the same order lifecycle. Reconciliation brings those records together and compares commission, fixed fees, logistics charges, tax deductions and settlement amounts.
Account for forward and reverse entries
A sale and its later return may appear on separate payout rows or in different periods. The inspected methodology aggregates forward and reverse payout entries. Finance teams should check the relevant period, signs and identifiers before escalating a difference.
Work with meaningful exceptions
Tolerance settings distinguish small rounding differences from material exceptions. The live workbench offers severity filters and separate settlement and contract views, helping the team focus on a defined set of unresolved rows.
Close with evidence
A discrepancy is a review finding. A recovery claim needs a valid basis, supporting source records and a traceable outcome. Bank-credit confirmation and automatic bank integrations should be scoped explicitly; they were not demonstrated in the inspected tenant.
