Log in to Seller Central India, open Reports, choose Payments, and go to Date Range Reports. Click Generate, pick Summary or Transaction, set the date range, and generate the report. When status shows ready, download it as CSV or Excel. For settlement-level files, use Payments and the statement or settlement view. Menu labels change, so confirm against your account.
What you need before you start
Payment reports contain financial data, so not every user can see them. If the Reports or Payments menu is missing, ask the primary account owner to give your user the relevant permissions under user permissions in Seller Central.
- Log in to the India marketplace (sellercentral.amazon.in), not another country's account.
- Decide the period: a calendar month for books, or a single settlement cycle for matching a bank credit.
- Keep your seller agreement and fee schedule handy, because you will compare deductions against them.
Amazon changes menu names and layouts from time to time. Treat the path below as a guide and confirm against what you see in your own account or Amazon's current help pages.
Steps to download the payment report
- Sign in to Seller Central India.
- Open the Reports menu and select Payments.
- Go to Date Range Reports.
- Click Generate and choose the report type, usually Summary or Transaction.
- Select the date range. For month-end work, use the first to the last day of the month.
- Click Generate again and wait for the status to show as ready. Large date ranges take longer.
- Click Download and choose CSV or Excel, if both are offered.
If the file is large, generate it in smaller windows, such as weekly, and combine them later. That also makes it easier to find where a mismatch began.
Which report type should you use
Amazon offers several payment views. Names can vary, so check the description shown next to each option.
| View | Best for | Level of detail |
|---|---|---|
| Summary (date range) | Month-end totals and quick tie-out | Totals by category |
| Transaction (date range) | Order-level checks on fees and refunds | One row per transaction |
| Statement or settlement view | Matching a single bank credit | One settlement period |
Use Summary to see the big picture, then Transaction to find which orders explain a difference.
Columns to check when you open the file
Column names differ between report types, but look for these groups:
- Order or transaction ID and date: the key for matching to your own order data.
- Transaction type: order, refund, adjustment, service fee, or other category.
- Product sales and shipping amounts: what the customer paid for the item.
- Fee lines: referral, closing, fulfilment or shipping-related charges, depending on your setup. Compare each to your agreed rate card.
- Tax lines: tax collected and any tax deducted at source. Check the current rules with your tax adviser instead of assuming a rate.
- Total or net amount: what contributes to the disbursement.
Filter by transaction type first. Refunds and adjustments are where most surprises hide.
The Flipkart equivalent
Flipkart sellers do something similar from Seller Hub. Look under the Payments or Finance section for settlement or payment reports, choose the period, and download the file. As with Amazon, the exact menu names and available report types can change, so confirm in Seller Hub or in Flipkart's current seller help documentation.
Both marketplaces give you order-level rows, fee lines and a net payout. That means the same reconciliation logic works for each: match sales, subtract refunds and fees, and compare to the bank credit.
Turning the download into a reconciliation
A downloaded report is not a reconciliation until you compare it with something else.
- Total the sales, refunds, fees and taxes in the report.
- Compare the net with the bank credit for the same settlement period.
- Compare order counts with your own order or ERP data.
- Check fee lines against your seller agreement and rate card.
- List unexplained differences with order IDs so you can raise them with the marketplace.
Doing this in spreadsheets works at low volume. As volumes grow, a tool such as MarketplaceMetrics by Fundle can reconcile sales and settlements, check fees against agreed terms and track returns and recovery cases. Myntra Excel reports are reviewed today, and coverage of Amazon and Flipkart is a scope discussion.
Worked example
Illustrative example only. These figures are made up to show the method and are not real fees or rates.
| Line | Amount (₹, illustrative) |
|---|---|
| Product sales in report | 1,00,000 |
| Refunds | -8,000 |
| Fees and taxes deducted | -18,500 |
| Other charges | -2,500 |
| Expected net | 71,000 |
| Bank credit received | 69,200 |
| Difference to investigate | 1,800 |
The ₹1,800 gap would send you to the Transaction report. Filter for adjustments, reserve or holdback entries and refunds dated near the cycle boundary, then confirm whether the difference is timing or a deduction to dispute.
Questions and answers
Where is the payment report in Amazon Seller Central India?
Usually under Reports, then Payments, where you will find Date Range Reports and statement views. Amazon changes labels from time to time, so if you cannot see the menu, check your user permissions or Amazon's current help pages.
Should I download the Summary or Transaction report?
Use Summary for month-end totals and a quick tie-out. Use Transaction when you need order-level detail to find why a fee, refund or adjustment differs from what you expected. Most reconciliations need both.
Why does my report total not match my bank credit?
Common reasons include a different date range, settlement timing, refunds or adjustments falling in another cycle, reserves or holdbacks, and tax deductions. Match to the specific settlement period first, then investigate remaining differences by order ID.
Can I use the same method for Flipkart settlements?
Yes, the logic is the same. Download the settlement or payment report from Seller Hub for the period, total sales, returns, fees and taxes, then compare with the bank credit. Confirm current menu names and report types in Flipkart's seller documentation.
